L'Oreal Shines Light On Disease Epidemic
French cosmetics maker L'Oreal has brought to the forefront a disease that has afflicted t
he black entertainment community for years, resulting in symptoms including but not limited to, high album sales, abnormally large television ratings, and box office acclaim.
The malady, MichaelJacksonItous, named after the patient with the first reported diagnosis, is often ignored by the media. Reported cases are rare but in recent years has seen a rise in celebrities afflicted with the illness.
Not to be confused with OJ-itous, which has the exact opposite effect,
MichaelJacksonItous, commonly referred to as "Beyonce's Disease", has begun to spread in Hollywood, Such notable stars as Queen Latifah, Rhianna, Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, and of course Beyonce Knowles have been afflicted, garnering them both success and popularity.
Researchers at the Tuskegee Institute have isolated the cause and are now working on a cure.
In a joint effort to bring awareness to the ailment, Chief Administrator at the institute, Dr. LaJohn Johnson PhD and French cosmetics company, L'Oreal have co-published an article to appear in this months journal of medicine. In the article, Dr. Johnson explains the cause and effect of the illness, "As high as 70% of black entertainers in America are afflicted with the ailment at one time or another..." he goes on to say "It seems the cause is a mixture of mainstream success and an overwhelmingly willingness to sell out"
A fund has been set-up in the name of the victims and is asking for donations of Jet Magazine and spray-on tanner.
